# Whispering Wind vs Sunset Magazine

The clearest difference is rating: Whispering Wind at 5.0 against Sunset Magazine's 4.6. Whispering Wind also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Sunset Magazine's advantage is ratings volume (2.2K vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 10 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Whispering Wind sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per year and Sunset Magazine sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Whispering Wind holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sunset Magazine has 2.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Whispering Wind ships an update every 10 months, Sunset Magazine every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
