# Pi vs Sequence

The clearest difference is rating: Pi at 4.7 against Sequence's 3.0. Pi also leads on ratings volume (1.7K vs 2). Sequence's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pi sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per year and Sequence sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pi holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pi has 1.7K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Pi ships an update every 3 months, Sequence every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
