# Focus vs FocusTimer 2

The clearest difference is rating: Focus at 4.4 against FocusTimer 2's 3.3. Focus also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 9 months) and ratings volume (1.8K vs 3). FocusTimer 2's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 9) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Focus sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. FocusTimer 2 asks for nothing beyond the download.

Focus holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Focus has 1.8K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 57% and 57% positive.

Focus ships an update every 10 days, FocusTimer 2 every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and September 7, 2026 respectively.
