# Focus vs Laps

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Laps at 100% against Focus's 57%. Laps also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.4) and monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). Focus's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (1.8K vs 26). On price, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Focus sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Laps sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Laps holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Focus has 1.8K ratings behind it against 26, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 57% of Focus's written reviews are positive against 100% of Laps's.

Focus ships an update every 10 days, Laps every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and September 17, 2026 respectively.
