# Animal Face Camera vs FaceApp

Animal Face Camera and FaceApp both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Animal Face Camera's written reviews are positive against 47% of FaceApp's. Animal Face Camera also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 17.0). FaceApp's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 35 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Animal Face Camera sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and FaceApp sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $10.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Animal Face Camera against 4.7 for FaceApp. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FaceApp has 1.8M ratings behind it against 27, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Animal Face Camera's written reviews are positive against 47% of FaceApp's.

Animal Face Camera ships an update every 35 months, FaceApp every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
