# iStickPro vs i

The clearest difference is monetization model: i at free against iStickPro's paid. i also leads on update cadence (every 3 months vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (83 vs 10). iStickPro's advantage is rating (2.6 vs 2.1) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 11.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

iStickPro holds the better App Store score, 2.6 against 2.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: i has 83 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 13% of iStickPro's written reviews are positive against 10% of i's.

iStickPro ships an update every 7 months, i every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
