# VDB vs Tejas Beads

The clearest difference is monetization model: Tejas Beads at free against VDB's free with in-app purchases. Tejas Beads also leads on ratings volume (672 vs 97) and review sentiment (95% vs 85%). VDB's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for VDB against 4.9 for Tejas Beads. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tejas Beads has 672 ratings behind it against 97, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 85% of VDB's written reviews are positive against 95% of Tejas Beads's.

VDB ships an update monthly, Tejas Beads every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
