# Text vs PingMe

The clearest difference is rating: PingMe at 3.7 against Text's 1.0. PingMe also leads on ratings volume (1.1K vs 2). Text's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (57% vs 48%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and PingMe sells 11 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PingMe holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PingMe has 1.1K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Text's written reviews are positive against 48% of PingMe's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Text ships an update every 3 weeks, PingMe every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
