# Text vs TIYA

The clearest difference is rating: TIYA at 3.7 against Text's 1.0. TIYA also leads on ratings volume (10K vs 2). Text's advantage is review sentiment (57% vs 33%) and iOS requirement (8.1 vs 12.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and TIYA sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TIYA holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TIYA has 10K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Text's written reviews are positive against 33% of TIYA's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Text ships an update every 3 weeks, TIYA every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
