# Text vs TikDown

The clearest difference is rating: TikDown at 4.5 against Text's 1.0. TikDown also leads on ratings volume (2.3K vs 2) and review sentiment (81% vs 57%). Text's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (8.1 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and TikDown sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TikDown holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TikDown has 2.3K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 57% of Text's written reviews are positive against 81% of TikDown's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
