# ru vs Canvas Run

The clearest difference is rating: Canvas Run at 4.5 against ru's 3.4. Canvas Run also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (33K vs 50). ru's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (46% vs 29%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ru sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Canvas Run sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Canvas Run holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Canvas Run has 33K ratings behind it against 50, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of ru's written reviews are positive against 29% of Canvas Run's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ru ships an update every 4 months, Canvas Run fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
