# Sub Count vs fanaticTV

The clearest difference is rating: fanaticTV at 4.2 against Sub Count's 3.3. fanaticTV also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 5 months) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 26.0). Sub Count's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ratings volume (380 vs 68). On price, review sentiment, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. fanaticTV sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Sub Count asks for nothing beyond the download.

fanaticTV holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sub Count has 380 ratings behind it against 68, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of Sub Count's written reviews are positive against 54% of fanaticTV's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sub Count ships an update every 5 months, fanaticTV monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
