# VB ParkFinder vs Surf Spot

The clearest difference is ads: VB ParkFinder at none against Surf Spot's shown. VB ParkFinder also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Surf Spot's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (23 vs 2). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for VB ParkFinder against 5.0 for Surf Spot. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Surf Spot has 23 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

VB ParkFinder ships an update every 4 months, Surf Spot monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
