# WWF Explore! vs VEX

The clearest difference is rating: VEX at 5.0 against WWF Explore!'s 4.1. VEX also leads on device support (3 vs 1). WWF Explore!'s advantage is monetization model (free vs subscription) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 6 months). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WWF Explore! sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and VEX sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VEX holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WWF Explore! has 22 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

WWF Explore! ships an update every 6 weeks, VEX every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
