# Sunset Predictions vs SpaceWeatherLive

The clearest difference is rating: Sunset Predictions at 4.5 against SpaceWeatherLive's 4.0. Sunset Predictions also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 4 months). SpaceWeatherLive's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.6). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sunset Predictions sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and SpaceWeatherLive sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Sunset Predictions holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sunset Predictions has 2K ratings behind it against 189, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of Sunset Predictions's written reviews are positive against 53% of SpaceWeatherLive's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sunset Predictions ships an update every 9 days, SpaceWeatherLive every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
