"สู้ยิบตา" (su yip ta) means to fight to the very end. The word "ยิบตา" is a shortened form of an old saying from cockfighting, where a bird beaten so badly that its eyes had to be stitched shut kept fighting. Thai idioms are figures of speech that cannot be read word for word. This app gathers 451 commonly used Thai idioms, each with its meaning explained in Thai. Some also have an origin, an example sentence and a note, such as น้ำลด ตอผุด, จมูกมด, กินแกงร้อน, น้ำท่วมปาก and หนอนหนังสือ.
