# Floppy Red Fish vs Lantern

The clearest difference is ads: Floppy Red Fish at none against Lantern's shown. Lantern's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 4 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Floppy Red Fish sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Lantern sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Floppy Red Fish ships an update every 4 months, Lantern weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
