# Encrypted Email vs Atomic Mail

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Encrypted Email at 50K against Atomic Mail's 288. Encrypted Email also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and chart position (#67 vs unranked). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Encrypted Email sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Atomic Mail sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Encrypted Email holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Encrypted Email has 50K ratings behind it against 288, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of Encrypted Email's written reviews are positive against 51% of Atomic Mail's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Encrypted Email ships an update every 10 days, Atomic Mail every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
