# Proton Mail vs EZZINE

The clearest difference is review sentiment: EZZINE at 100% against Proton Mail's 47%. EZZINE also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 6). Proton Mail's advantage is ratings volume (48K vs 9) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Proton Mail sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. EZZINE asks for nothing beyond the download.

Proton Mail holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Proton Mail has 48K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of Proton Mail's written reviews are positive against 100% of EZZINE's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Proton Mail ships an update every 10 days, EZZINE every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
