# RainViewer vs RainLog V2

RainViewer and RainLog V2 both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 83% of RainLog V2's written reviews are positive against 45% of RainViewer's. RainLog V2 also leads on ads (none vs shown). RainViewer's advantage is ratings volume (31K vs 32) and chart position (#43 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RainViewer sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and RainLog V2 sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for RainViewer against 4.6 for RainLog V2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RainViewer has 31K ratings behind it against 32, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 45% of RainViewer's written reviews are positive against 83% of RainLog V2's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
