# Sirens and Horns + vs Train Sounds Effects

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Sirens and Horns + at none against Train Sounds Effects's 1. Sirens and Horns + also leads on rating (4.4 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (76 vs 10). Train Sounds Effects's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 18 months). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Train Sounds Effects sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Sirens and Horns + asks for nothing beyond the download.

Sirens and Horns + holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sirens and Horns + has 76 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Sirens and Horns +'s written reviews are positive against 73% of Train Sounds Effects's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sirens and Horns + ships an update every 18 months, Train Sounds Effects every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
