# HerdBoss vs SheepDogAG

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: SheepDogAG at none against HerdBoss's 11. SheepDogAG also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.2). HerdBoss's advantage is ratings volume (59 vs 6) and review sentiment (89% vs 80%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HerdBoss sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. SheepDogAG asks for nothing beyond the download.

SheepDogAG holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HerdBoss has 59 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 89% of HerdBoss's written reviews are positive against 80% of SheepDogAG's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HerdBoss ships an update every 3 weeks, SheepDogAG every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
