# Bastard Café vs MitID

The clearest difference is rating: Bastard Café at 5.0 against MitID's 1.2. Bastard Café also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). MitID's advantage is ratings volume (195 vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 10 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Bastard Café holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MitID has 195 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Bastard Café ships an update every 10 months, MitID every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
