# Countdown vs Countdown Widget

The clearest difference is rating: Countdown at 4.7 against Countdown Widget's 2.0. Countdown also leads on ratings volume (24K vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). Countdown Widget's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (daily vs weekly). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Countdown sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Countdown Widget sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Countdown holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown has 24K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Countdown ships an update weekly, Countdown Widget daily. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
