# FileMate vs Kingbox.

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Kingbox. at none against FileMate's 7. Kingbox. also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 13.0). FileMate's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 43%) and ratings volume (378 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FileMate sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Kingbox. asks for nothing beyond the download.

Kingbox. holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FileMate has 378 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of FileMate's written reviews are positive against 43% of Kingbox.'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FileMate ships an update every 2 weeks, Kingbox. monthly. Both last shipped on September 30, 2026.
