# FileMate vs My Space

The clearest difference is rating: FileMate at 4.6 against My Space's 4.1. FileMate also leads on ratings volume (380 vs 13) and review sentiment (75% vs 64%). My Space's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FileMate sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and My Space sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FileMate holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FileMate has 380 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 75% of FileMate's written reviews are positive against 64% of My Space's.

FileMate ships an update every 2 weeks, My Space fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
