# FileMate vs AdKiller

FileMate and AdKiller both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 75% of FileMate's written reviews are positive against 14% of AdKiller's. FileMate also leads on ratings volume (378 vs 11). AdKiller's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FileMate sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and AdKiller sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FileMate holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FileMate has 378 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 75% of FileMate's written reviews are positive against 14% of AdKiller's.

FileMate ships an update every 2 weeks, AdKiller every 2 days. Both last shipped on October 12, 2026.
