# Yoga | Down Dog vs Experiment with Light

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Experiment with Light at none against Yoga | Down Dog's 10. Experiment with Light also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). Yoga | Down Dog's advantage is ratings volume (327K vs 4) and chart position (#93 vs unranked). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Yoga | Down Dog sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Experiment with Light asks for nothing beyond the download.

Yoga | Down Dog holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Yoga | Down Dog has 327K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 93% of Yoga | Down Dog's written reviews are positive against 100% of Experiment with Light's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Yoga | Down Dog ships an update every 2 weeks, Experiment with Light every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
