# 3D Solar System vs Skyview

3D Solar System and Skyview both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Skyview's written reviews are positive against 29% of 3D Solar System's. Skyview also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (12.4 vs 16.0). 3D Solar System's advantage is ratings volume (1.7K vs 330). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 3D Solar System sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and Skyview sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Skyview holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 3D Solar System has 1.7K ratings behind it against 330, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 29% of 3D Solar System's written reviews are positive against 100% of Skyview's.

3D Solar System ships an update fortnightly, Skyview every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
