# GPS vs GPS Tracker

The clearest difference is rating: GPS Tracker at 4.6 against GPS's 3.4. GPS Tracker also leads on ratings volume (633 vs 17) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks). GPS's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GPS Tracker sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. GPS asks for nothing beyond the download.

GPS Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GPS Tracker has 633 ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 60% of GPS's written reviews are positive against 71% of GPS Tracker's.

GPS ships an update every 2 weeks, GPS Tracker every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
