# Gratis vs Loris

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Loris at 83% against Gratis's 12%. Loris also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Gratis's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 2.0) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Gratis holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gratis has 361 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 12% of Gratis's written reviews are positive against 83% of Loris's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Gratis ships an update fortnightly, Loris every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
