# SnoBird vs Y

The clearest difference is price: Y at Free against SnoBird's $3.99. Y also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and review sentiment (60% vs 31%). SnoBird's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and device support (3 vs 1). On ads there is nothing between them.

Y is free to download; SnoBird costs $3.99 up front. SnoBird sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Y asks for nothing beyond the download.

SnoBird holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Y has 39 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of SnoBird's written reviews are positive against 60% of Y's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SnoBird ships an update every 2 months, Y fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
