# Wheels Afield vs FieldScout Survival

The clearest difference is update cadence: FieldScout Survival at every 6 weeks against Wheels Afield's every 12 months. Wheels Afield's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (13 vs 2). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Wheels Afield sells 15 one-off in-app purchases and FieldScout Survival sells 20 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Wheels Afield against 5.0 for FieldScout Survival. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Wheels Afield has 13 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Wheels Afield ships an update every 12 months, FieldScout Survival every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
