# Flipper vs Real Camera

The clearest difference is rating: Flipper at 4.6 against Real Camera's 3.0. Flipper also leads on ratings volume (8.2K vs 2). Real Camera's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (73% vs 52%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flipper sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Real Camera sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flipper holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flipper has 8.2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 52% of Flipper's written reviews are positive against 73% of Real Camera's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Flipper ships an update every 2 months, Real Camera every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
