# To Do List vs Smart Tasks

The clearest difference is rating: Smart Tasks at 4.7 against To Do List's 3.0. Smart Tasks also leads on ratings volume (4.5K vs 4) and review sentiment (79% vs 56%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. To Do List sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Smart Tasks sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Smart Tasks holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smart Tasks has 4.5K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 56% of To Do List's written reviews are positive against 79% of Smart Tasks's.

To Do List ships an update monthly, Smart Tasks fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
