# Google Cardboard vs WISC

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Google Cardboard at none against WISC's 1. Google Cardboard also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (2.7 vs 2.3). WISC's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WISC sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Google Cardboard asks for nothing beyond the download.

Google Cardboard holds the better App Store score, 2.7 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Google Cardboard has 679 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Google Cardboard ships an update every 3 months, WISC monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
