# AC Freedom vs Smart Home

The clearest difference is rating: Smart Home at 4.5 against AC Freedom's 1.5. Smart Home also leads on ratings volume (8K vs 2) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). AC Freedom's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Smart Home sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. AC Freedom asks for nothing beyond the download.

Smart Home holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 1.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smart Home has 8K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 13% of AC Freedom's written reviews are positive against 5% of Smart Home's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AC Freedom ships an update every 2 months, Smart Home fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
