# xtraCHEF vs Vestwell

The clearest difference is rating: xtraCHEF at 4.6 against Vestwell's 3.5. xtraCHEF also leads on ratings volume (2.5K vs 184). Vestwell's advantage is monetization model (free vs subscription). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

xtraCHEF holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: xtraCHEF has 2.5K ratings behind it against 184, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of xtraCHEF's written reviews are positive against 47% of Vestwell's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
