# MEL Science vs Grade One Science

The clearest difference is rating: Grade One Science at 5.0 against MEL Science's 3.7. Grade One Science also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). MEL Science's advantage is ratings volume (88 vs 1) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Grade One Science holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MEL Science has 88 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
