# Notes Lock vs Checky

The clearest difference is rating: Checky at 4.5 against Notes Lock's 2.7. Checky also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1). Notes Lock's advantage is review sentiment (87% vs 50%) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 25 months). On price, ratings volume, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notes Lock sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Checky asks for nothing beyond the download.

Checky holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 87% of Notes Lock's written reviews are positive against 50% of Checky's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Notes Lock ships an update every 3 months, Checky every 25 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
