# Texidium vs Evo Reading

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Evo Reading at 67% against Texidium's 13%. Evo Reading also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). Texidium's advantage is rating (4.2 vs 2.0) and in-app purchases (none vs 10). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Evo Reading sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Texidium asks for nothing beyond the download.

Texidium holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Texidium has 26 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 13% of Texidium's written reviews are positive against 67% of Evo Reading's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Texidium ships an update every 3 months, Evo Reading every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and September 19, 2026 respectively.
