# YapYap vs SilverTimer

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: SilverTimer at none against YapYap's 1. YapYap's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 29 months) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. YapYap sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. SilverTimer asks for nothing beyond the download.

YapYap ships an update every 2 months, SilverTimer every 29 months. The most recent releases landed on September 14, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
