# OpenPM vs Vumedi

The clearest difference is ads: OpenPM at none against Vumedi's shown. OpenPM also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). Vumedi's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 39 months) and ratings volume (4.3K vs 1). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for OpenPM against 4.9 for Vumedi. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Vumedi has 4.3K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

OpenPM ships an update every 39 months, Vumedi weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
