# ZAGA vs Planet Squirrel

The clearest difference is rating: ZAGA at 4.4 against Planet Squirrel's 3.7. ZAGA also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 22 months). Planet Squirrel's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and review sentiment (100% vs 75%). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ZAGA sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Planet Squirrel asks for nothing beyond the download.

ZAGA holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ZAGA has 172 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of ZAGA's written reviews are positive against 100% of Planet Squirrel's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ZAGA ships an update weekly, Planet Squirrel every 22 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
