# Smartify vs Sam TV Remote Control

Smartify and Sam TV Remote Control both sit at 4.3 stars, but that hides the real split: 67% of Sam TV Remote Control's written reviews are positive against 30% of Smartify's. Smartify's advantage is ratings volume (111K vs 131) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Smartify sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Sam TV Remote Control sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for Smartify against 4.4 for Sam TV Remote Control. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smartify has 111K ratings behind it against 131, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 30% of Smartify's written reviews are positive against 67% of Sam TV Remote Control's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
