# Drone Buddy vs DroneScout pro

The clearest difference is rating: Drone Buddy at 4.7 against DroneScout pro's 3.8. Drone Buddy also leads on ratings volume (8.4K vs 13) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Drone Buddy sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and DroneScout pro sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Drone Buddy holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Drone Buddy has 8.4K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Drone Buddy's written reviews are positive against 57% of DroneScout pro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Drone Buddy ships an update weekly, DroneScout pro every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
