# Inkpad Notepad vs Vault

The clearest difference is ads: Vault at none against Inkpad Notepad's shown. Vault also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Inkpad Notepad's advantage is ratings volume (8.6K vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Inkpad Notepad sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Vault sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Vault holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Inkpad Notepad has 8.6K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Inkpad Notepad ships an update every 2 weeks, Vault every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
