# Telphin vs Paper VPN

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Telphin at none against Paper VPN's 8. Telphin also leads on review sentiment (75% vs 45%). Paper VPN's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (388 vs 13). On price, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Paper VPN sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Telphin asks for nothing beyond the download.

Paper VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Paper VPN has 388 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Telphin's written reviews are positive against 45% of Paper VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Telphin ships an update every 4 months, Paper VPN every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
