# Amcrest Cloud vs CamCommand

The clearest difference is monetization model: CamCommand at free against Amcrest Cloud's freemium. Amcrest Cloud's advantage is ratings volume (5.9K vs 19) and update cadence (every 4 months vs every 9 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.2 for Amcrest Cloud against 4.3 for CamCommand. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Amcrest Cloud has 5.9K ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Amcrest Cloud ships an update every 4 months, CamCommand every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 16, 2026 respectively.
