# SmartHQ vs Gradient Comfort

The clearest difference is rating: SmartHQ at 4.6 against Gradient Comfort's 3.8. SmartHQ also leads on ratings volume (89K vs 10) and update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 2 months). Gradient Comfort's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SmartHQ holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SmartHQ has 89K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of SmartHQ's written reviews are positive against 33% of Gradient Comfort's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SmartHQ ships an update every 4 weeks, Gradient Comfort every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
